Isfahan Tonbak by Mehdi

Available

£445

A traditional Isfahan-style tonbak by Mehdi, with a carefully shaped mulberry body and a natural calfskin head. Mulberry is a well-established choice for Persian percussion, valued for its strength, resonance and attractive natural grain. The 28 cm head gives a versatile playing surface suited to the full range of traditional Persian rhythms and techniques, and the calfskin gives a responsive feel and the characteristic tonal possibilities of traditional tonbak playing. Comes with a protective case.
